Success!

Teadebris inaugural dinner at Pizzeria Mozza was delightful.

Pizzas consumed:
- Gorgonzola dolce, fingerling potatoes, radicchio & rosemary
- Funghi misti, fontina, taleggio & thyme
- White anchovy, tomato & hot chilies
- Coach farm goat cheese, leeks, scallions & bacon
- Tomato, extra virgin olive oil & Sicilian oregano

Desserts devoured:
- Caramel copetta with Spanish peanuts
- Cioccolato, bittersweet chocolate cake

I wish I could post on the wine, but I really don't know what I drank. We left it up to the waiter and he did a fine job of pairing it with our pizzas. Amanda also discovered her love of pouring "vini al quartino" (~ 250 ml ~ a glass and a half) out of mini decanters.

I've proud of all who took a leap of faith and tried the white anchovy pizza. Some liked it (including me) and some were happy they didn't have to eat all 4 pieces of it. The spice, salt and sour combined into a glorious piece of pizza. I heard garbled "yums" through chewing over the Funghi misti pizza as well. Mushroom lovers unite!

I believe the caramel copetta was the favorite desert. The crunch from the crispy "base" (not quite sure what to call it) was fun against the smooth caramel gelato and salty/sweet peanuts.

Lastly, the conversation flowed with the wine. The range spanned from recently read books to Isabella Rossellini’s Green Porno. A proper Teadebris was defiantly had by all.

Pizzeria Mozza

Our first table for six is reserved!

Zagat:
The "hottest ticket in town", this "instant classic" in Hollywood from "rock-star chefs" Mario Batali and Nancy Silverstone might just "change you worldview about pizza" with "ethereal" pies sporting perfectly "charred" crusts and "esoteric toppings" like squash blossoms and burrata; given the frequently "packed house", servers are "overwhelmed" and the noise level "much too loud", yet acolytes insist they "could eat hear every night" if only they could "get in" (psst - "reserve well ahead" or "try the bar" for impromptu dining).

Hello all and welcome to Amanda & Erin's Teadebris Dinner Club

Here's how it works:

  • Teadebris - a night of unexpected
  • Teadebris meets at a different restaurant every 2-3-4 weeks (depending on how busy we are).
  • Dinner will always on a Tuesday night - because Tuesdays need a little spicing up.
  • We'll try to get reservations between 7-8 pm.
  • The first 4 people to RSVP are in. The later RSVP-ers are put on a waiting list in case someone backs out. We decided 6 (including Erin & Amanda) was a good number of people for a few reasons (ie: reservations, splitting check, etc).
  • You can't RSVP for another person, but if you know someone you want to bring just forward our invite to them and have them RSVP (new people are great and we'll add them to our mailing list).
  • Please please please bring cash to pay for your dinner - no checks or money orders - just CASH.

On the horizon: List of restaurants for voting. Blog describing the exciting and not so exciting food experiences. Teadebris street food? Teadebris brunch?
